Bipartisan polling firm RABA Research, as part of their national series of public interest polls, conducted an online survey of 501 Georgian residents February 17 – 19, 2024. The survey looked at respondents’ opinions on a variety of issues including Governor Brian Kemp, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, organized labor unions, and if respondents believe the recent verdict in President Trump’s New York trial will have an impact on the November election.
Of particular note, 89% of respondents believe “Georgia’s workers should have the freedom to join a union” and 84% believe “Georgia’s employers should be free to recognize a union in their workplace if a majority of their employees express that they want to be represented by a union”.
The results of this survey show 79% of respondents “would be LESS LIKELY to support my legislator if they voted to weaken workers’ rights”.
When asked if last week’s ruling by a judge in New York which found former President Donald Trump had fraudulently overstated his net worth to lenders and ordered Trump and his companies to pay nearly $355 million in penalties, would have an impact on November’s election, a majority of Republicans (51%) answered that it would.
Key Findings: Below are several key findings from the research.
- Brian Kemp is viewed favorably by 52% of respondents and unfavorably by 39%.
- Fani Willis is viewed favorably by 32% of respondents and unfavorably by 39%.
- Organized labor unions are viewed favorably by 49% of respondents and unfavorably by 33%.
